iOrthotics has been on a continual research and development path for close to ten years, starting with EVA manufacturing methodologies. In 2015, we began to search for a replacement to traditionally manufactured foot orthotics using 3D printing which revolutionised the business. By striving for the most cutting edge and environmentally friendly manufacturing methods, iOrthotics has become one of the world leaders in using 3D printing technology to manufacture custom orthotics.

A key motivation for innovating in the orthotics industry has been to reduce our environmental impact (plastic waste) whilst developing technologies to improve the quality of products and improve patient outcomes.

iOrthotics has been awarded funding for a $1 million project into finding a suitable 3D printed replacement for EVA orthotics.

Diversified Workforce & Skillsets

At iOrthotics, our workforce has diversified significantly to accommodate for the technology adaptation and R&D being undertaken. As a result our workforce has expanded significantly with a wide range of skillsets including:

  • Application and software developers

  • Mechanical engineers

  • Industrial designers

  • Mechanic, fitter and turner

  • CAD experts

  • Podiatrists & Pedorthists

On top of that we have had over 12 University undergraduates and post graduates performing research within our facility for our application. This level of expertise is helping us stay at the forefront of innovation in our industry.
